Education vs Skill

           

I still remember my father saying , "have common sense", when ever we faced problems. The only secret of solving problems in those days was using our Common Sense. That era has gone. Now any learned person you interact with speaks about skill. I wonder whether it is different from common sense. And the sad story is that now nobody speaks about common sense.

The education scenario has been changing from time to time. It has to suit to carry out our day today matters as smoothly as possible. It has to help us to adapt and adopt ourselves to the changing world. When change in the essence of life we face lot of problems. So the skills we have & we acquire should enable us to solve these problems amicably without much of repercussions.
Education provides capabilities to face the world where as skill is an immense capacity to tackle the real life situations.
Education shows a prescribed path to succeed in life whereas skill gives wider opportunities to overcome even the worst situations.
In education there is always right and wrong. Whereas in skill there is nothing called right or wrong as long as you find a solution of your own to solve the immediate problem at hand.

Of course when education and skill go hand in hand then the world will become a lovely place to live in.
Education and skill are like two eyes of an individual .The vision of life is 100% with both and will only be half if any one of this is absent.
Okay then what is skill? Is a particular skill enough or do we need to have many skills?
It has become the need of the hour to speak,write, discuss argue, suggest, advice on various skills.
I invite the learned persons to throw light on this topic and make it to go on and on by giving ideas and opinions about skill and skill development . Let me ring the bell by letting the cat out of the box.
